About the event

In the space of a breath – a heartbeat – on Winter Solstice, a fine ray of light shows on the eastern horizon of our dreams. We'll gather on Solstice night!

Dancers and dreamers, artists and activists, workers and wanderers, come! As the Sufi poet Rumi wrote,

Come, come, whoever you are.

Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving.

It doesn’t matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair!

Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times.

Come yet again, come, come.

We will share a candle lighting ceremony and circle dance as we turn all we are leaving behind into rich compost for the seeds of beauty and hope that we plant for the coming year. Let's bow to this moment of mystery and turn our hearts toward the light.

Kavita Kat MacMillan & Sean Frenette will cast musical nets for us to chant with and dance with that will capture our hearts and intentions. They will be joined by other local poets and artists, soon to be announced!
